• General Macarthur cartoon mural at the Roosevelt.

32 Orwell Street, Kings Cross, NSW, 1945

During the last years of the Second World War, Snelling painted large cartoons of wartime political and military leaders around the walls of the Roosevelt, a Kings Cross restaurant that was popular with visiting Americans. He might also have designed the restaurant's eagle logo—although the graphic style of this logo is more refined than his usual 1930s and 40s style for merchandising.
