• Liddle and Epstein's Adelaide headquarters in the mid-2000s (Caroline Butler-Bowdon).

202 Franklin Street, Adelaide, 1959–61

This Adelaide office building for J. H. Liddle and Epstein was not intended to “make a statement” and “probably cost around $2,000”, recalled one of its owners, Jim Liddle. Photographs taken in 2004 show functional modern front and back façades that (despite alterations) were consistent with some aspects of Snelling’s architectural style, but they were substantially diminished in quality from other offices he designed, and compromised by unsympathetic additions. There was a Snelling-style staircase of cantilevered terrazzo steps, installed in a small entry passage that was not consistent with Snelling’s usual space planning.
